I was at a friends house in Greenville SC last night for a stock the bar party. Not sure if that’s a real thing or not, but I had fun, nevertheless. I see some of you carried the torch in unnecessarily shopping for cars in my absence:

Anyways, one of the guys there drives an E90 328i and was talking about wanting a 135i. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Sadly, he can’t drive a stick; however, he did express interest in learning. Mentioned something about buying a Miata to learn on. I did tell him that if he bought one I would drive to ATL to help him get it home. I was surprised how cheap some 135i’s have become so I figured I should look at 128i’s. After sitting in traffic in Greenville on Friday, I also had this idea that I might want to change the DD back to an auto, so I looked up some 128i’s.

These things have gotten really cheap. I paid 15k for my 128i back in October 2015; this is half that. If you’re thinking about a small BMW, consider the 128i, they’re pretty great cars.

I know some people enjoy them, it’s one reason I keep doing it. Not that I would stop, but I would stop posting it to oppo. When I lived in Corpus Christi I lived under 10 minutes away from the BMW dealer, which was on the way to the liquor store I went to. I stopped there a lot.

I want someone to give me some oil money without having to go back to the oilfield. Right now that would interfere with my goals of having friends and meeting a girl.

Even before I clicked on this, I saw 2008 and thought those had “Year of the 1" inscribed onto the start button.

Also that’s very close to the color of the 1 I had. I know Vermillion Red Metallic replaced that color.

The style 370s are among my favorite wheels from BMW.

There weren’t many for sale when I was looking for my 3. I wanted a coupe, didn’t matter if it was a 1 or a 3. My dad was looking at BMWs back in 2015 and wanted a coupe. I told him that if he wanted a coupe he might want to look at the 1 series since he wouldn’t need the back seats anyways. He’s got a 135is now.

I built one, and it was a bit surprising to see the lack of options. I was at only $1500 over base price with everything I wanted, and that included the gorgeous blue.

Here’s hoping they don’t go the way of the 1M

My M3 has 10k worth of options on it. I actually prefer how BMW is making everything standard now. I was having such a hard time finding an E90 M3 back in 2014 that I was thinking about getting a new F82 M3, since it would have only been 10k more than the car I bought. I was happy with all the stuff that came standard. That said, I built one the other day and it was 77k, not 60k like the one I built in 2014. I would have to get the competition pack, if for no other reason than the style 666m wheels.

I don’t think they’re going to go the way of the 1M. Unlike the 1M, they seem to be deprecating.

Sedona Red is one of the few colors I’d order via BMW Individual on a brand new 320i if I somehow acquired the money to do so. The others being Arctic Metallic and Calypso Red.

I really like the 135 a lot. The first car I lusted after was an E46 M3. It’s the main reason I’ve got an E90 M3.

I’m interested to see what the Kia Stinger is like to drive. I think I might test one this week.

Its portly.... I mean, the last e90 I drove was a pesky diesel one but... it felt way lighter, even though I think it understeers a lot more than the stinger... but then again, the stinger only understeers under crazy circumstances....

Also, that e90 had way better steering wheel feedback... in fact my jeep has better feedback too!

But the stinger feels very sturdy at highway speed, and the engine is amazing, I do warn of turbo lag quite a lot.... I also recommend you test one with the Limited Slip Differential.

My experience with Kia steering does not inspire confidence when it comes to them making a car with good steering feel. There is a reason I didn’t even test drive a Veloster when I was car shopping. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by my E9Xs.

Both my cars feel planted at 100+, then again they’re autobahn cruisers. I don’t think the LSD really makes a difference unless you’re really getting after it. The only time I notice it in my M3 is when I floor it in first or second.

Oh, but you’ll want to floor it on the stinger... in any gear...the first gear is so short that you might aswell just start in 2nd any time you don’t want to listen to the tires suffer.

The stinger... I mean... Mexican highways don’t do it any justice, but using one of the better ones I could accidentally be doing more than 160km/h without noticing and the engine not breaking a sweat. The biggest issue the stinger has is that it’s gotten very soft springs, to the point that when the car is fully laden I can’t even get into some garages because it would bottom out. Soft springs are good for sharp corners where the electronic dampers can keep the car firm, but on sweepers? man it rolls quite a lot...

I don’t like to thrash engines that aren’t broken in yet. I red lined the 911 turbo in second I drove, it was amazing.

I was flying home from my friends house today and the 3 took it in stride. They are sublime at speeds. Also, long cars, like the stinger, then to be pretty good highway cruisers. I am interested to see what it drives like.

There is some traffic in Greenville but I wouldn’t think enough to force a switch to a slush box. Although maybe it’s time for car #3!

Btw speaking of which I got verbal approval for my next DD to be manual. She may have been drinking at the time...

I’d have to teach her, which won’t go well but I think it’ll be worth it...

The Kia has, per the manual, no break in period... Though...they recommend being easy on the engine for the first 1000km...

I would say I would be thinking about one if it had a manual, but truth be told the one car I would be thinking about if it had a stick would be the Alfa Giulia.

A lot of really important decisions in my life have been made while drunk.

I was going to say I wish I could find a girl who wanted to learn, but I would settle for a girl at this point. I went on a few dates with this girl and she at least understood my fascination with the stick and seemed interested in learning.
